Poker Hand Ranking
The texas hold'em hand ranking is the same as in other common poker games
like Omaha, Stud Poker and Draw Poker. Players compare five card hands against each other to determine who has the best combination.
The different combinations of hands are shown and explained below in order from strongest to lowest :
.
Royal Flush : is a hand that contains five cards in sequence from 10 to the Ace, all in the same suit. It's the strongest of all hands.
Example : (Ace ♥, R ♥, Q ♥, J ♥, 10 ♥).
.
Straight Flush : is a hand that contains any five cards in sequence, all in the same suit.
Example : (8 ♦, 7 ♦, 6 ♦, 5 ♦, 4 ♦).
.
Four of a Kind : also known as Quads, is a poker hand contains four cards of the same rank.
If two players share the same Four of a Kind, the strongest fifth card decides who wins the pot.
.
Full House : also known as a Full Boat, is a hand contains three cards of the same rank together with any two cards of the same rank.
.
Flush : is a poker hand contains any five cards of the same suit but not in sequence.
Note : If the hand also has all the cards in sequential order, it would be a Straight Flush.
.
Straight : is a hand contains any five consecutive cards of different suits.
Note : if the cards were also all of the same suit, the hand would be a Straight Flush.
